Structure

1. Plates: The core component is a set of corrugated metal plates (usually made of stainless steel, titanium, or other corrosion
- resistant alloys). These plates feature a special chevron or sinusoidal pattern that increases the surface area for heat
transfer and induces turbulent flow, enhancing heat exchange efficiency.
2. Gaskets/Sealing Elements: Made of high - performance elastomers (such as NBR, EPDM, or Viton), they are placed around the
plates to seal the channels and prevent the mixing of the two media being exchanged. They also help in defining the flow
paths.
3. Frame and Pressing Mechanism: Comprising a fixed frame plate, a movable frame plate, and tightening bolts. The plates are
clamped between these frames, ensuring a proper seal and providing the necessary mechanical strength.

Working Principle

Two different fluid media (liquid - liquid, liquid - gas) flow through alternate channels formed by the plates. As they pass over
the corrugated surfaces, heat is transferred from the hotter medium to the colder one. The turbulent flow created by the plate
design minimizes the formation of thermal boundary layers, allowing for rapid and efficient heat exchange.

* Processing: Used for pasteurization, where milk, juice, or other liquid foods are heated to a specific temperature and then
cooled rapidly. It ensures the elimination of harmful microorganisms while preserving the nutritional value and flavor of the
